HWUM and Zchwantech Collaborate to Strengthen STEM Education in Malaysia.

Putrajaya, 30th April 2024 – Heriot-Watt University Malaysia (HWUM) and Zchwantech Sdn. Bhd. (Zchwantech) have formalized their commitment to supporting Malaysia’s promising students in computing science through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA).

The event, held at HWUM’s Putrajaya campus, marks a significant step towards enhancing the talent pipeline for STEM fields in Malaysia.

Empowering Students Through Collaboration

The MoA represents a joint effort to provide students with opportunities to excel in both their academic and professional journeys. As part of this collaboration, Zchwantech will sponsor the tuition fees of selected scholars and offer internship opportunities, ensuring students gain essential work and life skills. This support aims to equip students with practical experience and professional exposure.

Leadership Perspectives

Zchwantech’s Chief Technology Officer, Chay Weei Jey, and HWUM’s Chief Executive Officer and Provost, Professor Mushtak Al-Atabi, signed the MoA in the presence of senior management teams from both organisations.

Professor Mushtak Al-Atabi emphasized the importance of the partnership, stating, “This collaboration aligns with HWUM’s commitment to providing equitable educational opportunities in Computing Science.
